HomesavDesign, HTML & CSS
Homesav was in a serious bind a couple months ago, they were starting to generate buzz in National Post and Breakfast Television spotlights, problem was they spent a ton of money on a website that not only looked painful, but barely functioned as well. Since then, strides have been made to stop the bleeding, while working towards a fresher, newer look they can be proud of.

nirvana the band the showIdentity, Web, Print & Colouring
nirvanathebandtheshow is a Toronto based comedy that has reached global cult status on the web. I got involved early, from logo design, to building their webpage, t-shirt prints and even twitter backgrounds. The idea for the webpage was inspired by The Horizontal Way. I wanted the page to flow chronologically from each episode as the story unfolded.

C_ORE MetalDesign, HTML & CSS
Core Metal was an experimental project I took on while working for XXL Advertising. I wanted to play around with a fullscreen fading background switcher showing off the beautiful work of Core's metal workings. Unfortunately the client bailed half way through the project and it never got published.
little bit about me
I studied marketing at York, but realized that a life crunching numbers or feigning corporate smiles to people in suits would drive me insane. So instead I pursued a career in design which, at the time was only a hobby of mine.
I figured:
- OBSESSED WITH
TECHIE STUFF x
- APPRECIATION
FOR ART +
- SELF PROCLAIMED
SENSE OF STYLE =
PERFECT CAREER
Countless hours wasted spent staring at my computer screen reading new css techniques or skimming galleries for pretty things finally put to good use. I get excited when I see a slick design or some clever coding that just blows my mind.
On the flip side, nothing bothers me more than seeing a poorly designed _______. Fumbling around with ill concieved controls, workflows, interfaces drives me insane. Trying to get Heinz ketchup from the glass bottle??? C'mon now, if people are confused and frustrated with your product, please change it =/
Soo... I'm currently freelancing and would love to get involved with new projects. So gimme a shout if you like what you see and we'll go from there.
Here's my portfolio, hope you enjoy. Thanks.
what clients are saying
Ritchie was a vital part of positioning our show on the internet. His originality and attention to coolness brought our website acclaim based on design alone. His style was the fourth leg of our show's identity, and people recognize that immediately on our website.
Matt Johnson
nirvana the band the show
Ritchie is an extremely talented graphic designer whom I've had the pleasure to work with for the past couple of years on countless marketing campaigns and strategic initiatives. He is a marketing professional that not only has high business acumen but also a natural gift for creative design which is a very rare combination that makes him an invaluable asset to any company.
